Callum Wraight has won the 2018 Big Smash after defeating Matt Gillies 17-5 in the final. He was dominate in the final from only being 5-4 up to then lead 11-5 after scoring two on the power play end 10. He then managed to prevent Matt scoring again, and after scoring 1 on the power play 5th end meant he had won the £2000 first prize. In the Semi Finals he was always ahead of Zac Walker, racing 14-4 up and despite a comeback from Zac to get back to 15-11, Callum got a single and then finished it off in the 19th end. Matt beat Phil Lee in the other Semi Final in a close game. Callum had a tough Quarter Final game against Jimmy Derby, being 8-2, 11-5 and 14-7 down before scoring a two on the Power Play end 15 to get back to 14-11 and then be 16-14 up on the last power play end. He then managed to score a single to win 18-14. He beat Kieran Clarke, P Curwen and D Edmonds in his first three games.
