Graeme Wilson is this year’s Crosland Moor Open champion as he swept to victory in the club’s showpiece event. The Lower Hopton ace was in supreme form all evening as he underlined his credentials for the upcoming Blackpool Champion of Champions following his victory last weekend at Wharton Cons. Wilson was the bookies favourite for the title and he showed why as he overcame a tricky opening game with victory over 2014 winner Ashley Daykin 21-15 before putting on an exhibition of corner bowling as he cruised past long time club mate and friend Robert Hitchen 21-7. The final saw Wilson up against another club mate and County colleague in Josh Brown, a rerun of the recent Lindley Open final with Wilson having edged out Brown 21-20. Wilson however was in no mood for another close run encounter as he sprinted to victory 21-8, and in the process scooping the bumper £600 first prize. Competition organiser, Mark Atkinson lead a round of thank yous to all those who had helped to run the competition, in particular singling out event sponsor CNC SubCon of Meltham for their continued support of the event.
