Simon Coupe won the 2018 Brighouse Classic as he defeated All England Champion Chris Mordue 7 in the final. He went from 10-6 up to 16-6 to and from the middle of the crown and despite Chris scoring a single he managed to run out. In the Semi Finals he recovered from a 7-2 and 17-12 deficit and then ran out from 19-16 down. The other semi saw Ben Stapleton 14-9 up on Chris Mordue before Chris went corners and won 18. Ben had won an incredible Quarter Final from 20-13 down against Callum Wraight, while Chris had got past Tommy Johnstone, who beat Greg Smith 15 first game, 12. Stuart King had a great game with Elliot McGuinness, holding off a fightback over the middle from Elliot from 19-14 down to win 19. The other Quarter saw Simon defeat Stuart Mort 13 after a late run at the end.
