Autumn Waterloo Last 16 Review & Last 8 Preview

Simon Coupe continued his good form as he beat Ian France 12 to move into the last 8 and be evens favourite to win the competition. He now plays Jon Palmer, who continued his great run as he beat James Martin 15. The other last 8 game in the top half features Stuart Mort and Kevan Shaw, who is still on for the double Waterloo this season. Stuart beat Mike Davies 13 while Kevan defeated 2016 champion Tim Houghton 16. Phil Lee is second favourite after getting past Ed Furniss 17, and faces David Higginbottom, who ran out from 16-12 down against Paul Evans. The last game of the Quarter Finals features two players who had dominate wins in the last 16. Kevin Boon beat Danny Mayers 5 while BCGBA Junior Individual Merit winner Matty Worden won 6 against Shawn Frewin.
