Talbot Trophy Preview

There is just one ticket left to the Champion of Champions and it will be taken by the winner of the Talbot Trophy, unless Chris Mordue adds to his BCGBA Senior Individual Merit success, he plays Mike Hill first game. It is a very open field at the Raikes Hotel from 10 a.m. where I’m sure Autumn Waterloo winner Jon Palmer will be cheering on his brother Tom to make it a family double, he plays fellow Midlands player Kevin Hocknull first game. Last year’s runner up Scott Simpson aims to go one better, and takes on Jim Seeley. Rob Hitchen has plenty of experience on his side, and takes on Dave Worthington first game, while Yorkshire county team mates Gareth Coates and Jack Dyson are against Michael Coupe and Danny Sillitoe respectively. Youngsters Josh Mordue and Sam Millward play Larry Wells and Mike Geraghty, while Dave Bradford comes over from the Isle of Man to take on James Martin, who beat Graeme Wilson at the Waterloo earlier this week. Tommy King plays Phil McVittie, while seasoned competition player Glyn Storer plays Adrian Hodgson. Former Champion of Champion Terry Glover is up against Billy Harding, while North Lancs and Fylde county player Owen Jackson is versus Roy Moxham. Other ties include Mick Opie and David Scott, Mark Allman against Andy Hamman and Stan Billington versus Ryan Faulkner.

The full draw is here. There should be live scores posted somewhere, keep an eye out on here or on the Crown Green Bowling Comps Facebook page.
