World Club Championship Week 1 Preview

The World Club Championship starts today as 32 clubs aim to get their hands on the 8 places on finals day on Sunday 14th April. Parkfield are former winners in their home county of North Lancs & Fylde at Fox Lane, but this time it has moved to Spen Victoria Cricket & Bowling Club in Yorkshire. They take on Ashton CC first up from Greater Manchester, with the winners playing North Midlands’ Haunchwood or Levens from Cumbria, teams with experience of this competition. Thongsbridge won this in 2015, and on home soil, will be favourites to qualify. They play Lancashire’s Westhoughton first up, with Sir John Bayley of Shropshire and Grapes from Greater Manchester the other tie.
