BCGBA World Club Championship Week 4 Review

The Greville Arms and Eccleston took the final two spots in the last eight of the BCGBA World Club Championships. The Greville were fairly comfortable in their two wins, beating Bradfield by 38, Ross Dunkley their best 7, and then Marton Institute by 24, with Steve Wallace’s 8 win the best of their 5 winners. Marton had beaten Florence by 18 in the first game, best winner being Rob Swift 8.

It was much tougher for Eccleston as they only beat Thurgoland by 4 in the qualifying game, despite having 6 winners. Tex Allen was the best of them winning 16. In the first round game they beat Ramsey by 42, Andy Hayes the best of their 6 winners 9. Thurgoland had beaten Atherstone Cons, a replacement for Newdigate, by 14, Steve Marshall’s 5 card being vital.

Ashton CC v Dudley Dell

Greville Arms v Eccleston

Pudsey v Lower Hopton

Thongsbridge v The George
