The Greville Arms have won the 2019 BCGBA World Club Championship after beating Lower Hopton in the final by 8 chalks. They had three single figure winners in the final, Darren Plenderleith 5 and Carl Fielding 7 in the first four to lead by 11, and Ross Dunkley 9 which helped seal the win. The best winner for Lower Hopton was Ashley Tattersley 7. In the Semi Finals they played Dudley Dell and won by 41 with 7 winners, the best of them being Ross Dunkley 5. Jason Westwood was the only winner for the Dell 17. In the Semi Finals Lower Hopton defeated Thongsbridge by 3, Liam Griffin their best winner 9, with Ryan Clark’s 3 win best for Thongsbridge. They had won by 3 themselves in the previous round against the George, Jack Dyson best winner 11 with opposition captain Elliot McGuinness their best 10. The Greville Arms beat Eccleston by 24 in their Quarter Final, Carl Fielding their best 6, with Andy Hayes the same for the opposition 13. Dudley Dell defeated Ashton by 9 in their first game, Jason Westwood best for the winners 11, and Gareth Gwilliam and Rich Wyatt the same score for the Greater Manchester team. Lower Hopton only dropped one chalk against Pudsey as Chris Mordue was only winner 20, as Wayne Ditchfield and Liam Griffin best for the victors 8.
