The two winners from the opening matchweek meet as Derbyshire and Potteries & District meet. Both teams know a win will make them favourites to progress, with Derbyshire using Rolls Royce, where the All England is being held later this year, and Potteries are at Dilhorne. The other two teams in the group know they must win or they will be out of the running. North Midlands have turned to Bedworth while Lancashire use Bellingham.
The holders Warwick and Worcester join the competition and face Cheshire, who lost their first game against South Yorkshire. Cheshire know they must win by more than they lost to have any chance of going through, while Warwick and Worcester will look to win to make their life easier of progressing. They turn to their banker in the George, while Cheshire go to Metro Sports.
Shropshire and North Lancs & Fylde meet knowing a second win will put them as favourites to get through the group. Shropshire use the Bowring, while North Lancs go to South Shore. Yorkshire lost out to Shropshire first game and know it won’t get much easier as they travel to Lindal in Cumbria, their banker green. They use Rastrick knowing a win is a must if they are to have any chance of getting through.
Wales and Staffordshire both impressed in their opening wins and know a repeat could put them in a great position to win the group. Wales use Esclusham while Staffs go to Heath Hayes, both greens that have been used by both teams before. The other two teams in the group are Merseyside and Greater Manchester who know a win is a must to keep their chances of winning the group alive. Merseyside have gone to their fearsome green at the Wheatsheaf, where they beat Shropshire by 105 last season, with Greater Manchester using Bamford.
